Workshops For Women
Empowered women have the knowledge, tools and skills to take charge of all aspects of their lives and overcome the obstacles in their path. Poverty, abuse, instability, domestic violence and multi-generational patterns of dysfunction keep women trapped in trauma-filled lives. Living from crisis to crisis becomes a familiar pattern with little expectation of stability and peace of mind.
Of course, children growing up under such conditions bear the scars and grow up to repeat the family patterns of living and relating. To break this cycle and offer children a chance for a better future, we must begin with their mothers. Empowered mothers can change the course for generations to come.
We create opportunities for women to come together and share their stories, examine their lives, create visions of their future and encourage each other to reach for their dreams.
We recognize that women come from all walks of life, and our sense of possibility for ourselves is shaped by our life experiences.
Training for Mental Health and Social Service Professionals
New Learning Center offers training in our woman-centered, trauma-sensitive, empowering and accessible model for social service agencies, mental health professionals and others whose work brings them in contact with women whose lives have been shaped by the trauma of poverty, abuse, instability, domestic violence, isolation and little exposure to encouragement and opportunity.
Professional Workshops provide quality training for social service agencies, mental health professionals and others who work closely with women. New Learning Center's experience in the nurture and rehabilitation of women with limited financial resources is a valuable asset to its training program.
